With a little help from my friends

With a little help from my friends

Thanks, Angie!

The job of keeping Rabun County litter-free is never-ending. But it’s a job made a whole lot easier when good folks chip in to help.

A special thanks to Lakemont Postal Carrier Angie McCracken.  On Saturday, in the midst of a marathon trash collection effort along Old Highway 441, Angie stopped not once – but twice – to pick up overflowing bags of litter I had left on the roadside. On her second stop, my final bag was just about full and she swapped it for an industrial-size garbage bag she had in her car.

So Angie’s final tally was three full bags picked up and taken to the dump and one extra-large bag given to a collector in need.

Thanks again, Angie. Your kindness is very much appreciated. And it helped cap off a successful day that netted five total bags of litter and five miles of clean roadways between Barn Inn Road and Hillside Orchard Farms along Old Highway 441.
